Heart screening and imaging
At Lake City Medical Center, we offer heart screening and imaging services to diagnose cardiovascular diseases. Some of these services include:
- Cardiac catheterization
- Stress testing
Echocardiograms are ultrasounds of the heart. These noninvasive diagnostic exams allow cardiologists to assess the functionality of the heart.
Electrocardiograms (EKGs) involve monitoring the rhythm of a patient's heart for 24 to 48 hours. This noninvasive medical procedure allows our doctors to detect conditions that may require treatments, such as pacemaker implantation or medication.
Our cardiac catheterization lab is equipped with specialized imaging systems, which allow excellent visualization of the blood vessels of the heart.
Cardiac catheterization involves injecting a contrast dye into a patient's coronary arteries and using X-ray imaging to detect any blockages. This minimally invasive technique is also used in peripheral vascular and renal angiograms.
Treadmill stress tests
Treadmill stress tests are noninvasive diagnostic exams that involve a patient walking on a treadmill. As the patient exercises, their heart is monitored. This allows us to detect any potential cardiac conditions.
