All of October will be a celebration for survivors and reminder that screening saves lives.
Lake City Medical Center, an HCA North Florida hospital will celebrate Breast Cancer awareness month with a theme of “Tackling Breast Cancer Together!”
The celebration will begin with a Pink Day Celebration “Kick-off” for the Month in the Lobby of the hospital that will see the mayor of Lake City Proclaim October as Breast Cancer Awareness month in Lake City. This celebration will also see Pink Donuts and other complimentary breakfast foods for any guests.
Breast Cancer Awareness month will then see a tailgate style celebration, which will give guests an opportunity to tour Invision Imaging of Lake City and see the latest and greatest in 3-D Digital Mammography, the Senographe Pristina (recently featured in the Lake City Reporter). This event will be held on Thursday October 18 between 5 and 6:30pm and will be open to all.
To round out the month, Lake City Medical Center and their affiliate the Cancer Center at Lake City will host a luncheon to showcase how we as a community are Tackling Brest Cancer Together! This luncheon will feature a panel of physicians and experts on the prevention, diagnosis and most advanced treatment methods of cancer in our community!
