Lake City, FL – Lake City is welcoming a new Board Certified (Family Medicine) Primary Care Physician into the community after the Florida Health department reports a deficiency of primary care coverage in our area. The physician’s name is Dr. Todd Fife and he has joined the provider team at Lake City Medical Group with Dr. DeLeon.
Dr. Fife moved to Lake City with his wife from Montana, where he was born and raised. Having married his High School Sweetheart, Dr. Fife is also a father of three and grand ‘papa’ to five, who themselves previously had moved to Florida.
Dr. Fife attended the University of Montana through 1991 for his undergraduate and after a brief stent teaching high school mathematics, found himself studying medicine at Ross University. Subsequently he completed his residency in Family Medicine in 2004 at the University of North Dakota. Since then, he has enjoyed working with patients in all walks of life.
The Florida Department of Health produced Columbia County Health Assessment 2019 identified that while our area had increased recently to 140.1 physicians per 100,000 population they are significantly lower than the state rate (roughly 45% of state rate). The addition of Dr. Fife to the high quality group of Family Medicine professionals in Columbia County represents a significant step in improving the disparity between Columbia County and the state rate.
“As a family oriented physician with 15 years of clinical experience serving communities in Montana, North Central Florida is privileged to have his level of experience join Lake City Medical Group!” said Rick Naegler, LCMC CEO. “Adding quality primary care to our growing community is just another way we continue to commit to the care and improvement of human life.”
