Lake City, FL — Lake City Medical Center, an HCA North Florida hospital, recently named Karen Henson as CNO. Henson officially assumed her role with the 91-bed acute care hospital on December 1st.
Henson brings more than 10 years of leadership experience in healthcare to LCMC. She previously served as Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at HCA's Ocala Health System, part of HCA's North Florida Division, including both Ocala Regional Medical Center, a 222-bed, Level II Trauma Center and West Marion Community Hospital, a 94-bed full service acute care facility with over 2000 employees and 500 physicians on staff. Henson holds a Master of Science in Nurse Leadership, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University.
"During her tenure with Ocala, Karen has proven herself as a focused, dedicated leader, spearheading numerous growth initiatives and motivating staff to deliver on our mission of quality, compassionate healthcare," said Melanie Salsgiver, Chief Nursing Officer of HCA's North Florida Division.

Henson replaces Brian Pinelle, who served as the hospital's CNO before recently being named CNO of Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City Beach, Florida.
