Thank you for choosing HCA Florida Lake City Hospital as your healthcare provider of choice. HCA Florida Lake City Hospital is part of HCA Healthcare North Florida Division—offering medical and surgical programs including 24-hour emergency care, heart care, interventional cardiology, orthopedics, cancer care, imaging and rehabilitation services.

Our mission is simple: “Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.” Delivering care to our patients safely, effectively and compassionately is our number one priority. All of our colleagues are dedicated to making your hospital stay as comfortable as possible.

As the CEO of HCA Florida Lake City Hospital, I am committed and humbled to carry on the legacy and to be part of our North Florida community. Following my 30 years of experience as Chief Financial Officer of this facility, I am excited and honored for the opportunity to continue and be a part of the outstanding team at HCA Florida Lake City Hospital. Our facility has many years of recognition for quality outcomes, and has seen recent significant growth in adding new services and expansion. My commitment to this community is a continuation of high-quality healthcare in your hometown, further expansion of our services to meet the healthcare needs of our community, and a continuation to be your healthcare provider of choice.

For more than 60 years, HCA Florida Lake City Hospital has had the privilege of providing the highest quality healthcare services to the residents of North Central Florida. In serving our community, we have achieved many high benchmarks as a community medical center, but the most telling of all is the community voting “Best of the Best” Hospital 20 years in a row, which is a huge honor for our employees and physicians.

In addition to this honor and designation, we are proud of our clinical accomplishments, which include the following:

  • Disease Specific Certification as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission
  • The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® and Named one of the nation's “Top Performers on Key Quality Measures®” by The Joint Commission
  • Chest Pain Accredited by the American College of Cardiology
  • As we continue to strive for excellence in providing high quality, compassionate care to you and your family, please let us know if there is anything that we can do to enhance your experience at our hospital.

    Awards and recognitions
We strive to exceed our patients' needs. Our dedication to excellence in healthcare has led to us receiving awards and recognition from organizations such as The Joint Commission and the American College of Cardiology.
    In the community
To improve the health of the diverse communities we serve - and as part of HCA Healthcare, Florida's largest healthcare provider - we continue to take a leading role in fundamentally transforming how healthcare is provided. We also work in partnership with other organizations to provide a wide range of community benefit programs and services.

    Quality and patient safety

We are committed to enhancing the patient experience through improved care, better outcomes and reducing unnecessary costs.

    Our key focus areas

As an affiliate of the nation’s leading healthcare company, we have access to a vast clinical data warehouse, allowing us to adopt best practices to ensure best possible outcomes for our patients.

    Key focus areas include:

    Antibiotic management

Through education and clinical order sets, we support antibiotic stewardship.

    Blood utilization

We encourage best clinical practices in blood utilization by adopting a more conservative approach to blood utilization, which recent studies show improves patient outcomes.

    Children and pediatric emergency care

We use a sophisticated medication safety program designed for infants and children to ensure proper dosing and administration of drugs.

    Flu season preparation

HCA Healthcare is a leader in making hospitals safer for patients and visitors by providing free vaccines to staff and requiring vaccinations of health workers with direct patient contact. When a vaccine is not possible, the caregiver must wear a mask when close to patients.

    Medical research

Improving trauma care in Florida is one of our largest statewide research initiatives through our collaboration with USF Health. We also participate in a number of research efforts through our affiliation with HCA’s Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI) and our GME programs.

    Patient safety resources

We are committed to patient safety and encourage patients and visitors to speak up if you see anything unsafe occurring in our facility by contacting The Joint Commission.
